I will obviously be at the meet in April and will certainly make some time to socialize. I look forward to seeing everyone.
I wanted to do a brief recap of the past two weekend's meets. (There is much more detail on the athletics website.) The men's team finished fourth at the Patriot League meet behind Navy, Army, and Boston U. The women were fifth behind those three teams and Lehigh. As expected the throwers scored the bulk of the points for both teams. The women's team is very young, highlighted by Alex Lea winning Rookie of the Meet after finishing 3rd in both the 200 and 400. One personal bright spot for the men was Henry Didden finishing 5th in the 5000 in 14:23 to move to #9 on the all-time list. To add some perspective on the level of competition in the league, the men's mile was won in 3:58 and 7th place was 4:05.
This past weeked a small contingent of middle and long distance runners went to the IC4A/ECAC meet at Boston U. Didden followed up his strong performance at the PL meet by winning the 5000 at IC4As in 14:25 with Max Crockett finishing 3rd in 14:28. Caryn Rippey won the women's 3000 in 9:44 coming from 5th to 1st in the final 100 meters.
